You’re invited to attend a 1-hour LinkedIn LIVE event this March 13th at 2:00 pm ET.
The Appalachian region is in urgent need of increased access to cancer screenings and improved follow-up care. Compared to other regions in the U.S., Central Appalachia has the highest cancer mortality rate in the region, 32 percent higher than the rest of the U.S. Disparities like this have become significant enough to draw the attention of the Biden Administration who reignited the Cancer Moonshot initiative last year with the goal of achieving equitable quality care for all patients with cancer and their caregivers.
Now, it’s time to take action!
By attending this LIVE event, you and your colleagues will be able to:
Guided by our speakers’ knowledge and experiences, this LIVE event will offer a deep dive into the risks residents in the Appalachian region currently face due to poverty and lack of healthcare resources. In addition, attendees will learn more about the Appalachian Community Cancer Alliance (The Alliance). The Alliance, established in December 2021, was formed to improve cancer screening and care in Appalachia. ACCC—together with several of its state chapters – launched the Alliance to identify ways to improve the lives of people impacted by lung cancer.
